Traffic Estimation

This first window allows for evaluation of traffic, based on four different methods: Manual Entry, Ticket Analysis, Affinity Matrix or Revenues.

• Transit from subregion to subregion;
• Interconnection incoming single transit;

• Interconnection from other national operators to international;
• Interconnection to other national operators;
• Interconnection from international to other national operators;
• Interconnection between two other national operators.

All the traffic is expressed in annual amounts given in minutes.

Method

This part allows for the choice of one of four methods. Select one of the alternatives to choose the method of traffic estimation. For all of them, except Manual Entry, the “Capture” button will be activated in order to proceed.
If the “Manual Entry” method is chosen, the traffic amounts can be entered directly in to the “Traffic Estimation” sub-box. In all other cases, these amounts are computed and cannot be changed manually.
When a method has been selected and the amounts computed or entered manually, it will be this method that is used in the later stages (cost of elements, unit costs and tariffs/simulation).

Capture

This button allows the start of the estimation method, with the exception of the  "Manual Entry" method, for which traffic estimations must be entered manually.

Validate

When a method other than "Manual Entry" has been selected, this button will validate the computed numbers and copy them to the Manual Entry method (which is the only one taken into account in the further processes). The user then has the possibility to complete missing data or to change any amount.

Generate report

This button allows for generation of a report containing the results of traffic estimation according to each method used. This report can be displayed on screen, printed or exported to a file.

Percentages

These percentages are mandatory and will be used in the next process.
